English: Arabian Gulf (Sept. 23, 2003) - An Aviation Boatswain’s Mate signals for a C-2A Greyhound assigned to the “Rawhides” of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron Four Zero (VRC-40), to speed up the propeller rotation prior to launch aboard the conventionally powered aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67). The C-2A is the principal aircraft used for carrier on-board delivery (COD) of personal and materials. Kennedy and Carrier Air Wing Seventeen (CVW-17) are operating in the 5TH Fleet area of responsibility (AOR) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Units in the Kennedy Carrier Strike Group are working closely with Multi-National Corps-Iraq and Iraqi forces to bring stability to the sovereign government of Iraq.
