Description
English: Pacific (May 22, 2004) - An aircraft director gives the single to the pilot of an S-3B Viking assigned to the "Fighting Redtails" of Sea Control Squadron Twenty One (VS-21) to stop, while a "hold back" operator, waits to secure the hold back bar to one of USS Kitty Hawk's (CV 63) four catapult systems. Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR), the conventional aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the world's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
