English: Atlantic Ocean (Feb. 25, 2004) – A 54 caliber (MK 45) 5-inch lightweight gun is fired aboard the guided missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55) as part of a live fire exercise. Leyte Gulf is currently on deployment with Expeditionary Strike Group Two (ESG 2), which also consists of the guided missile cruiser USS Yorktown (CG 48), amphibious transport ship USS Shreveport (LPD 12), guided missile destroyer USS McFaul (DDG 74), fast attack submarine USS Connecticut (SSN 22), amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) and the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (22nd MEU).
