English: The Arabian Gulf (Apr. 7, 2003) -- USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) steams alongside USS Nimitz (CVN 68) during weapons and cargo transfers between the two ships. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group and Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11) are relieving Lincoln and CVW-14 and will join coalition forces in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
