Description
English: At sea aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) Apr. 21, 2002 -- Lt. j.g. Peter Shoemaker from Traverse City, MI, returns to the ship after a strike mission. Lt. j.g. Shoemaker is an F/A-18 “Hornet” pilot assigned to the “Dambusters” of Fighter Attack Squadron One Nine Five (VFA-195). Kitty Hawk is the Navy’s only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier operating out of Yokosuka, Japan. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer’s Mate 3rd Class John E. Woods. (RELEASED)
