Description
English: At sea aboard USS Essex (LHD 2) Oct. 21, 2001-- An HH-46D “Sea Knight” Helicopter from the “Providers” of Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Five (HC-5) transfers supplies from USS Germantown (LSD 42) during a vertical replenishment at sea (RAS). Based out of naval Facilities Guam, HC-5 provides logistic support to ships operating in 7th Fleet, and 24-hour search and rescue duty. Additionally, HC-5 conducts paradrops, fast roping, and missions supporting special operations. U.S. Navy photo by Photographer Mate 2nd Class Michael Lewis. (RELEASED)
