Description The U.S. Navy troop transport USS Chaumont (AP-5) at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia (USA), on 4 October 1941. The battleship USS Texas (BB-35) is in the background to the right with the destroyer USS Dickerson (DD-157) and another four-piper. The British aircraft carrier in the foreground is HMS Illustrious (87) under repair under Aid Short of War.
