Description
English: USSR 1932-09-15 postal cover sent from Leningrad to Berlin. Registration (purple boxed marking 'R LENINGRAD no 515'), airmail label attached (Par avion). Front and reverse special biplane cancel 'LENINGRAD-BERLIN' for same-day air service leningrad-Berlin, dated 15.IX.32 (earliest known is 14.VI.30 of this marking), red postmark 'MIT LUFTPOST BEFÖRDERT / LUFTPOSTAMT /BERLIN C2'. Reverse same day postmarked 15.9.32.21-22 L 2 *. Receiver Berlin Steglitz 1 16.9.32.1-2. Correct franking 75k, postal cover 15k was uprated 60k. Airmail rates from May 1, 1932:
  • Afghanistan, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia:
    • Postcards 20k
    • Letters 40k per 20 grams / registered 75k


This stamped envelope was issued from 1931 (catalogue Michel U32). 15k standard issue franking, sender lines in 8 different languages, watermarked, 162:114mm.
