Summary[edit]

Description
English: USSR 1932-08-26 Polar expedition cover intended for usage for the first polar aircraft flight in 1932 from Franz Josef Land to Arkhangelsk within the framework of the 2nd International Polar Year. The red triangular cachet was dedicated to this event. The aircraft was unable to reach Archangel however so all mail was transfered to icebreaker Malyguin for delivery to Franz Josef Land. After completing its work, the icebreaker carried the mail to Arkhangelsk. All covers were postmarked with the transit marking 'Архангельск 28-8-32'.
