Description US Marine Corps (USMC) Lance Corporal (LCPL) Duc La, an Infantryman assigned to Lima/Company,3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, readies his 5.56mm M16A3 rifle equipped to fire simunition rounds, as he emerges from a building during a Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT) training course, at the Marine Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California (CA). Simunition rounds are simulated ammunition that fire a paint projectile and is used for training. The gear includes facemask and eye protection. The training is designed to simulate conditions in Iraq and give Marines valuable training using crowd control techniques.
