Description
English: Grandfather Ed VanDorn wields the camera on Shepherd Memorial Drill Field during Family Day Oct. 11. He is recording a special event in his family's history and the Marine Corps. Pfc. Brian Foersch (in uniform) graduated from basic training Oct. 12 with Company H, to become the third member of his family currently on active duty with the U.S. Marine Corps. His father, Col. Warren J. Foersch (left), is the assistant chief of staff, Operations, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, while his brother Nate (far right) is a sergeant in the infantry and is currently assigned to 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C. Providing family support are Brian's mother, Debbie, younger brothers Peter (right) and Paul (left) and his sister Natalie. Brian continues on from MCRD San Diego for training as an aviation mechanic.
