English: Brig. Gen. John E. Wissler, commanding general of the 2nd Marine Logistics Group, pays tribute to the fallen servicemembers of the 2nd MLG as he transfers authority of logistics operations in Iraq�s Al Anbar Province from the 2nd MLG to the Camp Pendleton, Calif.-based 1st MLG. The 2nd MLG is returning home to Camp Lejeune, N.C. after completing a 12-month tour in Iraq. The 4,000 joint-service members of the 1st MLG are part of the 25,000 Marines, sailors, soldiers and airmen of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force�s forward deployed element. The 1st MLG�s mission is to provide sustained logistical support to I MEF and Iraqi Security Forces operating in the Al Anbar Province. First MLG will also support the development of Iraqi Security Forces� logistical capabilities in order to enable independent ISF-led counterinsurgency operations. |
