English: 051020-M-1878M-003 CAMP SCHWAB, OKINAWA, Japan - Staff Sgt. Jared Hoversten (left) grabs Navy Lt. j.g. Harvey Macklin around the neck Oct. 20 during combat water survival qualification at the Camp Schwab Aquatic Center. Hoversten, simulating a drowning victim, pulled Macklin under the water to test his ability to remain calm and rescue. Hoversten and Macklin were among more than 140 Marines and sailors with Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, who spent up to four days participating in swim qualifications.
