Description
English: On Sept. 19, 2023, USDA Rural Development staff members visited Freund Farm in New Canaan, CT to learn more about their renewable, biodegradable CowPots. Pictured is the cowshed where cow manure is sourced for use in production of the CowPots. CowPots are a 100% renewable, recycled and sustainable alternative to plastic and peat. This project was made possible through the assistance of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD) Value Added Producer Grant (VAPG) and have been a hit in horticulture circles and are now being sold across the U.S. and Canada.
