English: On Sept. 19, 2023, USDA Rural Development staff members visited Freund Farm in New Canaan, CT to learn more about their renewable, biodegradable CowPots. Pictured on the left is a proof of concept pot from several years ago and pictured on the right is their finsihed design. The containers they make on their farm - with assistance from a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD) Value Added Producer Grant (VAPG) - have been a hit in horticulture circles and are now being sold across the U.S. and Canada.
