Description
English: BAY OF BENGAL (July 17, 2017) U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Bill Byrne, commander of Carrier Strike Group 11, middle left, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Rear Admiral Yoshihiro Goka, commander of Escort Flotilla One, middle right, and Indian Navy Rear Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, flag officer commanding Eastern Fleet, receive a tour of primary flight control from Cmdr. Corey Plocher, the Air Boss aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) during an admirals visit as part of the conclusion of Exercise Malabar 2017, July 17, 2017 in the Bay of Bengal. Malabar 2017 is the latest in a continuing series of exercises between the Indian Navy, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force and U.S. Navy that has grown in scope and complexity over the years to address the variety of shared threats to maritime security in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
