Summary

[edit]
Description

c/n 5800101 NATO codename:- Bear-A The 'N' model of the Tu-95 was a one-off conversion for dropping the projected Tsybin RS ramjet bomber. Built as a standard front-line aircraft in 1955, the 'N' conversion took place in 1957. After the project was cancelled, the 'Bear' continued to serve at Zhukovsky as a test-bed until 1959, when it flew to Monino for the museum. In the past it has been marked as both '4807' and '45' on the fin. Considering that it has probably spent the last 58 years sat outside, it is in remarkable condition! On display at the Central Air Force museum, Monino, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
