| Description |
View north east from the Gruvetippen view point at Skorovas Gruver in Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. The large lake in the distance is Tunnsjøen, the 7th largest in Norway, just west of the border with Sweden. The lake has two large islands, clearly visible in this photo, the lower Reinøya is closest while the taller Gudfjelløya is the more distant. Gudfjelløya is Europe's highest laying inland island, as the surface of Tunnsjøen is 358 meter above sea level. The mountain on the island is known as Gudfjellet (God mountain) and is 812 meters tall, or 454 meter above the water level of the lake. |
