English: Courtyard of the Leasowes plantation
Nederlands: Aquarel. Leasowes was een katoenplantage aan de Boven-Nickerie. Aan de noordkant werd hij begrensd door de Atlahtische Oceaan, ten oosten door de katoenplantage Clyde , ten zuiden aan bosgebied en ten westen aan katoenplantage Sarah.
Aan de Engelse namen is nog te zien dat het gebied vanaf 1808 werd ontgonnen door de Engelsen en Schotten. later werdeen deel van de daar liggende deze plantages overgenomen door Nederlandse planters.. Aquarel voorstellende de binnenplaats op de plantage Leasowes |
