Nederlands: Scheepsmodel. Plantage-eigenaren in Suriname verplaatsten zich veelal met boten. De tentboten, zo genoemd vanwege de constructie op het achterdek, werden voortbewogen door een aantal slavenroeiers. De eigenaar zat met zijn gezin onder het afdak.
De welvaart van de planters was af te lezen aan de versiering van zijn tentboot. Model van een houten tentboot met zes roeiers en een stuurmanEnglish: model of a shipmodel from Suriname. Plantation owners in Suriname moved often by boats. The boat tent, so named because of the structure at the rear, were driven by a number of slave rowers. The owner and his family sat under the roof.
