| Description |
Nederlands: Litho. ingekleurde litho naar een tekening van Th. Bray, (24/25). De danskleding, d.w.z. feestkleding, van de veldslavin bestaat uit: een koto (rok); jaki (openhangend jasje met lange mouwen); angisa (doek, hier om het bovenlijf geknoopt ter ondersteuning van de borsten) en een angisa om het middel geknoopt. Veel Creoolse vrouwen dragen een doek stijf om het middel geknoopt bij wijze van corset. Deze dame draagt ook nog een tap skin pangi, een omslagdoek los om de schouders hangend, en een ede angisa, een hoofddoek. Laatstgenoemde doeken werden m.b.v. stijfsel op verschillende manieren gedragen, en de betreffende draagwijze had een symbolische betekenis waarmee geprotesteerd werd tegen omstandigheden en personen van de plantage.
