Deutsch: Hieronimus Bosch (1453-1516) ist einer der größten Meister der niederländischen Malerei. Er stellte mit großer Phantasie auf seinen bewegten vielfigurigen Gemälden die verschiedensten weltlichen und religiösen Themen dar. Der Chirurg und der heilende Arzt waren beliebte Themen der niederländischen Malerei. Auf den Gemälden galt eine Trepanierung oder die Entfernung einer Pfeilspitze aus dem Kopf des Patienten immer als wirkungsvoll. Ein häufiges Thema war auch die „Entfernung des Steines der Narrheit". --Man `reiß nicht, ob diese Scharlatanerie oder vielleicht dieser „psychotherapeutische" Eingriff in Wirklichkeit auch ausgeübt wurde. Soviel ist sicher, daß die Trepanierung in der Chirurgie eine unverhältnismäßig große Rolle spielte. Dabei ging es außer um „technische Bravour" offenbar auch um kultische Traditionen. Es ist auch nicht auszuschließen, daß Boschs Gemälde ein Spottbild auf die Ärzte ist. |
