Summary[edit]

Description
English: Blue Ridge Cabin Lookout tree. The sharp-eyed may spot the ranger on the left side near the top. If no lookout towers were available, trees were climbed to check the vicinity for fire. Lookout trees often had makeshift ladders, but this one appears to be unimproved. Photo taken in 1932 by S. F. Wilson. Credit: USDA Forest Service, Coconino National Forest
