En France , les impressionssur étoffes de cette espèce sont presque toujours exécutées à lamain ou à la planche plate, et spécialement dans les environsde Paris. Si, à laide des enlevages et des réserves, on réalise des dessinsblancs sur violet, rose, puce et noir isolés, rien nempêche deproduire de semblables effets sur ces couleurs réunies au nombrede deux ou de trois sur le même tissu. Ces impressions se fontou sans rapport, à la machine à une seule couleur, ou avecrapport, à la machine à deux, trois ou quatre couleurs. Léchant. 139 a été obtenu à la machine à une couleur;ainsi on a dû imprimer dabord la rayure rose , mordant rouge,ensuite le blanc enlevage dessin ramage , puis , après avoir dé- lK^ GENRES DERIVES DE LA GARANCE. 207 r 139. Violet et rouge, impression blane enlevage sur rouge.
