Description
English: This picture showcase The traditional marriage ceremony, known as "Igbankwu". A cultural practice in the Igbo community. It is a ceremony that marks the joining of two families through marriage. The ceremony is usually performed by an elder in the community, known as an "Eze ndi ocha." The bride and groom are joined together through a series of rituals and rites that symbolize their commitment to each other and their families. The rituals include the exchange of gifts, traditional dances, and the sharing of kola nuts. The traditional marriage ceremony is more than just a legal contract.
