Her lå bygården Risvollan til 1912, da den ble revet for å gi plass for Hotell Trønderheimen med Trønderhallen. Bygården Risvollan fikk navn etter Thor Riisvold, som kjøpte gården 1810. Den ble 1826 solgt til John I. Søbstad. Det ble drevet bondelosji i gården og dette var kjent under flere navn, som "Faldgruben" eller "Fordervelsen", noe som vel sier litt om stedet.
