Tossing in a bison robe – a Native American child’s amusement

Summary[edit]

Description
Dansk: ”Trampolin–spring” blandt pigerne i hidatsa-stammen. Børn i flere stammer legede denne leg.
English: Tossing in a bison robe was a traditional amusement of a number of Native American children, here played by the Hidatsas. The Hidatsa children called the amusement or sport ”foot moving”, because the girl in the air wriggled her feet. A pile of weeds was placed under the robe in case a girl lost her grip in the robe.
