Esta foto participó En Otro Lugar de Flickr La Torre de los Arias Dávila (Segovia), es una edificación de tipo militar y servía como defensa o como atalaya , esta situada en la calle Colón, 4. Guarda reminiscencias claras árabes, combinadas con el gótico. Se construyó a mediados del siglo XV y su dueño, D. Diego de Arias Dávila había subido de niveles más bien humildes hasta la Corte merced a sus dotes personales. Cuando cayó en desgracia, se defendió exitosamente desde la torre contra las tropas del monarca, Enrique IV.Tiene un hermoso balcón almenado con blasones y aspilleras. El esgrafiado geométrico de su decoración exterior nos recuerda la multitud de dibujos que este revoco, típicamente segoviano, puede mostrar. |
