Description

After a long weekend in Toronto, I am leaving on a United flight to Chicago on my way back to Los Angeles.

The Toronto skyline, including the CN Tower, can be made out toward the left. To the right (west) would be Mississauga and Pearson Airport, where I had taken off from. As Pearson Airport, like other major Canadian airports, has on-site US immigration and customs preclearance, I am already back in the US for practical purposes, and upon arrival in Chicago, can transit as a domestic passenger.

This was a horrendous flight, with a purser who was extremely obnoxious and rude. I made sure to complain mightily to United Airlines Customer Service, using the weight of my new-for-2009 Premier status; I was given an apology in the form of a $150 credit, which went on to help fund my 2010 trip to New Orleans.

This would be my last trip on a United 737 classic; United would retire its 737 fleet five months later, and would not fly 737s again until acquiring Continental Airlines' huge 737 fleet as part of the two airlines' merger in late 2010.
