Description
English: Vending machine for sellng tobacco, cigarettes and snus in a Norwegian grocery store.
  • A uniformed employee refills round snus boxes in an open vending machine located just outside the cash registers and payment area at the entrance. Photo taken in Stavanger, Norway in March 2023.
  • Snus is a type of smokeless tobacco that is common in Scandinavian countries, whereas snuff usually refers to a type of finely ground tobacco that is inhaled through the nose. Snus is placed between the upper lip and gum for extended periods, as a form of sublabial administration. Snus is not fermented. It does not typically result in the need for spitting.
