Key:
Mughal empire
Red: Akbar; Akbari gate and Doulat Khana-e-Khas-o-Am;
Blue: Jahangir; Jahangir’s quadrangle (Barri Khwabgah, gardens etc), Makatib Khana, the famed Picture wall, and Hathi Paer;
Pink: Shah Jahan; Sheesh Mahal quadrangle (Sheesh Mahal, Naulakha pavilion, garden etc), Khilawat Khana (Shah Jahan’s harem, Paen Bagh, Attached mosque, gardens, Shahi Hammam etc), Lal burj, Kala burj, Shah Jahan’s quadrangle (Diwan-i-Khas, Khwabgah-i-Shahjahani, gardens etc), Diwan-i-Aam, and Moti Masjid
Green: Aurangzeb; Alamgiri gate, Badshahi mosque
Sikh empire
Yellow: All Sikh empire additions; Ranjit Singh: Hazuri Bagh garden and Baradari, Gurudwara Dehra Sahib, Northern outer wall, Sheesh Mahal additions (Athdara and wall, burj) Naag temple, Lal and Kala burj upper levels, Sehdari Pavilion in Jahangir’s quadrangle, Kharak Singh haveli, Mai Jindan haveli; Others: Ranjit Singh samadhi
British period
Light Blue: British structures: Stables, Gunpowder storage; Structures that existed before but rebuilt by the British (such as Diwan-Aam) not included;
Orange: Allama Iqbal tomb
