DescriptionTim Murray visit to Lonza.jpg |
English: "Highlighting Investments in Job Creation
Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray travels across the Commonwealth to visit business leaders and highlight the success of strategic investments in innovation, including life sciences, high-tech and advanced manufacturing. These investments have leveraged private investment and job creation to support economic development in all regions in Massachusetts. Visit to Lonza in Hopkinton On Wednesday, March 16, 2011, Lieutenant Governor Timothy P. Murray joined state and local officials to celebrate the completion of leading life sciences company Lonza Biologics' custom manufacturing expansion in Hopkinton . Lonza is one of the world's leading suppliers to the pharmaceutical, healthcare and life science industries. The project, which has already created 128 jobs in the region, was jumpstarted by over $2.7 million in MassWorks Infrastructure Program grants from the Administration. Two grants were awarded for this project - $128,784 to Milford and $2.6M to Hopkinton. Coupled together, these funds have been used to execute a wastewater agreement between the neighboring towns, allowing Lonza Biologics to complete its recent expansion. The total infrastructure upgrades necessary for Lonza to construct its new facility cost an estimated $3.98 million. The grants were anticipated to leverage 102 new jobs for the region, but Lonza has exceeded expectations and added 128 new jobs to date." (photo was wrongly timestamped 2009-07-03 17:11:18) |

Definition of "public record"
Public records are defined in A Guide to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, Published by William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Division of Public Records, (Updated January 2017) at https://www.mass.gov/files/2017-06/Public%20Records%20Law.pdf on page 40, under M. Limitations of template usage
This is consistent with the statement at http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ARC/arcres/residx.htm:
Note: Works that are considered "public records" but were not created by a state or municipal government agency may be copyrighted by their author; the Supremacy Clause of the United States Constitution prevents state law from overriding the author's right to copyright protection that is granted by federal law. For example, a state agency may post images online of the final appearance of a building under construction; while the images may be "public records", their creator (eg. architecture/construction firm) retains copyright rights to the image unless the contract with the agency says otherwise. See: Government-in-the-Sunshine Manual: To what extent does federal law preempt state law regarding public inspection of records?. |
