| Description |
English: Tide gauge at low tide, river beach, Teignmouth. A tidal range of 12 feet is shown (3.658m). This low tide looks a little lower than the interpolated zero on the scale. When a very high tide meets a west wind the water can just overtop the wall. It bounds the south side of a slipway, part of the former Morgan Giles boatbuilding yard. When the tide is half in on a warm day, teenagers like to run along the narrow top of the wall and jump into the river. Anglers will fish from it on an incoming tide. |
