Summary[edit]

Description
English: Thomas Smythe, skinner in London, dead 1625.
Sir Thomas Smythe was the second son of Thomas Smythe, Esqu. of Westenhanger, by Dame Alice, his wife, the daughter of Sir Andrew Judd, Knt., Alderman of the City of London. He was born about the time his grandfather, Sir Andrew Judd, died, and appears to have taken up his freedom and livery in the Haberdashers' Company, as well as in that of the skinners. He was nominated one of the Sheriffs of the City of London by Sir Nicholas Mosely, 17th June, 1600, and entered on his duties in the November following.
