Summary[edit]

Description
English: A 1930's era New York State Historical Marker in front of the Old Halsey House, at 249 South Main Street in the Village of Southampton, New York. Unfortunately, this shot was obstructed by midday sunglare. The house was built in the 1680's by Thomas Halsey, Junior, for his father Thomas Halsey, Senior, and is one of the oldest houses on Long Island. Though a dendrochronology survey by Oxford University claims the house was built in 1688, the Southampton Historical Society claims it was built in 1683. However, this historical marker is claiming it was built in 1648 for some reason.
