Summary[edit]

Description
English: Thiébou yàpp or also Ceebu yàpp, a somewhat generic name meaning rice and meat dish. In this case the meat is chicken so to be more precise thiébou ginaar (in Wolof, ceebu means rice, yap means meat and ginaar means chicken) Senegalese rice with chicken, vegetables, eggs, as typically served in a large communal platter with spoons or eaten by hand. (Thiébou uses the French alphabet spelling, ceeb (rice) is the same word using the official Senegalese alphabet spelling, pronounced like 'cheb' in English).
