| Description | Within a stone's throw from my son's apartments is the Hogsback Falls. Part of the Rideau Canal itself stretches here as well, and yes, there are locks here too! The Rideau Canal was a rather important navigation route with several locks down it's length. More notes about the canal and locks appeared in some detail in previous captions, at the beginning of this album, so I'll spare you the details. So here is another of the locks on the Rideau Canal at the Hogsback Falls. Though took several pictures standing on one of the locks near the Bytown Museum (beginning of this album), thislock was out of bounds to pedestrians. At any rate the water was flowing far too fast near here so it would have been dangerous to get up there anyway. (Ottawa, Canada, June 2015) |
