i Bar, Keep down this shore past the steam saw mill to the extreme pointnear the head of the dry bar from the shore on the left, then crossout towards the right shore below the mouth of Saline. Mouth of Saline River, When about two miles below the mouth of Saline, go in to theleft shore under a flat shone bar, keep close down the shore untilwithin half a mile of Casey ville, when you will find a small shonebar, then leave the left shore and work across the river in towardsthe opening between two rock bluffs on the right shore, oppositeCaseyville. Then ware off gradually in to the middle, and nearthe head of Trade Water Island (near the left shore opposite themouth of Trade Water river,) keep within stone-throw of theisland until 300 yards below its fool, then cross in to the point onthe right. Then ware slowly to the left, and make a long crossingin to the left shore, then keep down the left shore to the point orferry, then cross in to the right shore opposite the head oft 874 880 883

When opposite the cave ware off to the left grad-aally until within 200 yards of the left shore, then ware in graduallyto the rock shore on the right near one and a half miles below the cave.The above manner will avoid a new bar thrown up near the right shoreJust below the cave-in-rock : when opposite a false point on the right,where is wood sometimes kept, or opposite a small clearing on thepeak of the hill, and nearly down to the right hand bar, then cross overto the left shore against or rather under a false point on the left shoreabout three quarters of a mile above Hurricane Island, This is a very large island. - There is middling deep waterto the left of it, but is too full of logs.
