lumbiana county, in thestate of Ohio, and falls into the Ohio just within the borders ofPennsylvania, is an excellent stream for water power. It affordsa vast number of mill seats, many of which are already improved ;among which are two paper mills, several forges and furnaces, anda large wire manufactory, lately established by a company in Pitts-burgh. Nearly opposite to little Beaver, is Georgetown, on the left, asmall town of Beaver county, Pennsylvania. Rather more than amile below Georgetown, the state line crosses the Ohio, separatingthe state of Pennsylvania from Virginia, on the one side, and Ohioon the other. Keep a little to the left, towards the lower part ofGeorgetown, to clear the bar at the mouth of Little Beaver. LIVERPOOL On the right in Columbiana county Ohio is the town of Liverpool,which is made by an act of the Legislature of that state, the south-ern termination of a contemplated Rail Road between the OhioRiver and Lake Erie. Three miles below this town is a bar in themiddle of the river, channel near the left hand shore. On the rightfour miles down is Wellsville just below the mouth of little YellowCreek, on the same side. Bakers Islands, Are two very small islands, connected by a large bar. Channelto the right, between the head bar of the island and a shore bar onthe right. After passing the latter, run in pretty close to the rightshore, near the sycamore trees; when past them, incline to theleft, and pass near the foot of the island, to avoid Yellow creekbar, on the right.
