MiMil^K. Copyright, 1900, by M. A. & K. M. Heinzer. ANISE OR VANILLA DROPS. 136 Anise or Vanilla Drops, 1 cup of sugar.4 eggs. 2 cups of flour. I small pinch of grated ammonia.^ ounce of anise seed. HOW TO MIX. Beat the eggs and sugar over a slow fire until lukewarm(with an egg beater) 5 or 8 minutes, then add in the am-monia, anise seed and flour and mix lightly. Place a half-inch tube into an ornamenting bag and putthe mixture into it, then press it through the tube the sizeof a half dollar on a greased pan, dusted with flour, i inchapart. Let them stand 3 or 4 hours until dry, and bakein a cool oven. These will bake in 15 minutes. This will make 50 or 60 drops. Place themixture on a table and take enough of it and roll it outon the moulds with a rolling-pin, so it will not be over one-fourth of an inch thick, then turn them over on a table andcut them in the lines. Place them on a greased pan, lightlydusted with flour, i inch apart, and let them stand until dry,3 or 4 hours. Bake in a very cool oven. These will bake in 15 or 20 minutes. Copyright, 1900, by M.
