Unfortunately,Mr. Turner did not continue his breedingoperations beyond the second generation;otherwise, judging from his success duringthe time he kept Mastiffs, we shouldprobably have seen more of these dogsof high quality than has been thecase of late. Mr. Mark Beaufoys namewill be principally associated with Beau, although he owned several others of acknow-ledged merit. At one time the kennels ofCaptain and Mrs. J. L. Piddocke containedmany excellent Mastiffs, Toozie, JubileeBeauty, and Ogilvie being remarkably goodheaded dogs. Lieut.-Colonel Walker, al-though not a very frequent exhibitor, hasbeen a persistent breeder for many years, and has bred several Mastiffs of whichanyone mighl be proud. Mr. Robert Leadbetter has also beenprominent among the owners of this mag-His kennel at Hasle
