Of late years,the production of the Sevres factory has been largely/^r/c c/«;r, and in this, thesuperior quality of the kaolin (porcelain clay) used, and the exceeding hardnessof the glaze with which the bisquit is covered, renders the finished work incom-parably the best in the world as far as mere technique goes. Yet, a curiousresult of these qualities is, that their excess of excellence, so to speak, leaveslittle opportunity for the decorator to exercise his skill upon the ware.
