ulness, and your capacity forforming correct judgments and registeringthem precisely. There are ten tests, eachdivided into a number of parts. The firstone is comparatively easy, but they in-crease in difficulty. You will turn to thefirst test when I order you to do so, andwill proceed as rapidly as possible to carryout the ten operations scheduled there, ac-cording to instructions. When I call Timeyou will raise your hands in the air, andhold them there while I explain the secondpage of tests. Before A typical view of West Michigan Pike.Van Buren County, Mich., before Tarviawas used. Pfeseri/es RoadsFrei/ents Dust- A vieru of the same section of the sameroad after Tarvia was used. Note smooth, dustless, easy-traction surface. THE Before photographabove shows a section of WestMichigan Pike,Van Buren County,Michigan, as it looked in the sum-mer of 1916. But the taxpayers of Van BurenCounty reahzed that such roads asthis not only hampered the devel-opment of the county and madetravel difficult, but that in the longrun they cost the community morethan good easy-traction roads. The After picture shows thesame road, photographed at exactlythe same spot, after macadamizingand treating with Tarvia-B. West Michigan Pike is now afirm, mudless, dustless road, water-proof and automobile proof, overwhich full loads can be hauled tomarket with speed and economy. And wisely, the taxpayers ofVan Buren County propose to keepthis road new. Last year they gave ita second treatment withTarvia-B
