THE BOLD SEA DWARFS starfish to-day, which Old Sailor Jack gaveme to keep me from being afraid of the ocean.He says all sailors children always wear them,and he calls them St. Gilders flowers. Maybe it was because you disobeyedmother ; but go on, dear. Well, while I was under the water, I feltmyself being drawn quickly out to sea. Iopened my eyes, and there, to my horror, wereseveral ugly little dwarfs like those on theship, and they were dragging and pulling mealong. * Dont make any fuss, theres a good girl,said one of them in a squeaky little voice. Youre such a jolly little girl that we want youto come and play with us. We have long hadan eye on you. Did you see me on the bow-sprit of the schooner this morning? Yourhair was as yellow in the sunshine as thegolden sand, and your eyes as blue as theangel fish.
