nesshad brought this terrible storm upon them, sothey drove him and his family into the sea.To the amazement of the crowd standing onthe beach, as he disappeared into the waveshe was turned into a sea giant. The wise manof the village, lifting his right hand, prophe-sied that he would come to a bad end, andat last be killed by his own followers, thepeople he had led into mischief. No soonerhad this happened than the waves dashedup and rolled in upon the wicked city.The few good people escaped to the moun-tains, but the wicked ones were changed tosea birds and wandered about for years with-out any homes. The wicked man became a very, very largesea giant, indeed. He heard the prophecy,and when he saw his wife and children fol-lowing him, he became much enraged. Tiresome old woman and brawling brats,I am done with you, he roared furiously, andturned them into stones at once.
