English: engraving by James Stuard with a general view of Athens in the late 18h century Ελληνικά: Εικονίζει την γενική άποψη του τοπίου της Αθήνας και των πέριξ, με τον Σαρωνικό κόλπο, το νησί της Σαλαμίνας και της Αίγινας, καθώς και τις ακτές της Πελοποννήσου από την Κόρινθο μέχρι το ακρωτήριο Σκύλλαιο (Κάβο Σκυλί). Περιέχει το υδραγωγείο του Ανδριανού, τον Υμηττό με την μονή του Αγίου Ιωάννου, το ιερό της Άρτεμης Αγροτέρας, το Παναθηναϊκό Στάδιο στην νότια όχθη του Ιλισού, τον ναό της Δήμητρας Αγροτέρας, τις στήλες του Ολυμπίου Διός, την Πύλη του Αδριανού, δύο βουνά κοντά στην Επίδαυρο, το μνημείο του Φιλοπάππου, την Ακρόπολη με το ναό της Αθήνας, τα ερείπια του τρόπαιου που κτίστηκε προς τιμή της νίκης της Σαλαμίνας, το Θησείο, το βουνό της Αρκαδίας, τον Ακροκόρινθο, τον Σκαραμαγκά, την Μονή Δαφνίου.
Στον πίνακα εικονίζονται επίσης διάφορα πρόσωπα της εποχής, ο Χασσάν Αγάς που προπονείται στην τοξοβολία, βοεβόδας των Αθηνών, μαζί με έναν καδή και με τον Μουντερισί Εφέντι και τον Αχμέτ Αγά, πλουσιότερο και επιφανέστερο Τούρκο ευγενή των Αθηνών της εποχής εκείνης και κυβερνήτη της Ακρόπολης, συνοδευόμενους από τον Αζάπ Αγά και άλλους υπασπιστές. |
