ROOKY MTS. PARK. 52. Route. 259 Banff (4520 ft), a village with about 800 inhab., splendidlysituated in the valley of the Bow, among the giants of the Rocky Mts.,is the station for the Rocky Mts. Park of Canada and one of themost charming summer-resorts on the American continent. Thevillage lies a little to the S. of the railway-station. Immediately tothe N. rises Stony Squaw Mt. (6160 ft.) , to the right of whichfrowns the massive Cascade Mt. (9825 ft.). To the E. are Mt. Inglis-maldie (p. 262) and Mt. Peechee (p. 262). The low isolated elevationin the S.E. foreground is Tunnel Mt. (p. 260), to the S. of whichtower the peaks of Mt. Rundle (p. 262). To the right of the last, onthe other side of thQ Spray, are the Sulphur Mts. (7485-8030ft.),beyondwhich protrudes the N. end of the Bourgeau Mts.
