Dansk: Den sorte hund Død og den hvide hund Sygdom. Ifølge arikaraernes skabelsesberetning følger de to hunde arikaraerne overalt og bider dem, fordi arikaraerne glemte at ære dem under en pipe-ceremoni.
English: The black dog Death and the white dog Sickness. The Arikara story of Genesis tells how the two dogs follow the people everywhere and bite them because the Arikara forgot to honor them during a ceremony.
