Description |
"The devil is in the small letters". , by Erik Pevernagie, oil on canvas, 100 x 80 cm
But there may be many “buts.” We may overlook some little details that can force our life to become a nightmare, and that cannot be stopped anymore. The genie is out of the bottle. When dealers of the food industry use small or hardly readable letters or camouflaged symbols in the descriptive labels of their products, they may be doing so for special reasons and more specifically for misleading purposes. Let’s not trust those who write in small letters, using cabbalistic figures or enigmatic codes, as it frequently comes down to a manipulative strategy, orchestrated by disorientating marketers or cryptic felons, who, for that reason, often deserve to be sued for failing to assist persons in danger. These manipulations can, indeed, have disastrous consequences for the individuals or the innocent consumers of a whole nation and lead to bodily injuries simply through deception and mystification.
