Fig. 140.—^Lipoma of the male breast. (Warren and Gould.) size. Dudley (Post-Graduate, N. Y., 1891-2, XVII, 157) removed one that weighednearly 4 pounds, from the breast of a woman aged 50 years. Queirel (Rev. de. Chir.,1889, IX, 923) removed a lipoma the size of a childs head from the left breastof a womanaged 64 years. It was soft and freely movable. She had lipomas in other regions of 4 THE NON-INDIGENOXJS TUMORS OF THE MAMMARY GLAND 353 the body. Queirel (These de Paris, 1897-98) also removed a lipoma from the malebreast. Smith (Med. Times and Gazette, London, 1876,1, 7,7,1,) removed a lipoma fromthe right mammary region (exact location not stated) of a man, aged 47 years. Thetumor was on the level of the nipple, its long axis extending outward for about 6 inches,and measured 2^/^ inches across. Its surface was irregular. It was soft and elastic,the skin freely movable over it. The nipple was not adherent or depressed. Therewere no enlarged axillary nodes. The patient recovered
